Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mothers' Day...

...to my mother, whom I love dearly & am incredibly grateful toward, for everything she's done for me & her uncompromising, unlimited, untiring, sometimes-ocean-spanning love.

...to my mother-in-law, for raising such an incredible son, and treating me like a beloved daughter.

...to my sisters-in-law, with love, for raising my girls' very fun cousins & strengthening those family trees & ties.

...to my fellow mothers, for their sleepless nights, midnight feedings, mid-night worryings, early mornings, late nights, and other sleep-deprivedness.

...to those who struggle to become mothers, with love and affection and hope and sympathy.

...to those who unexpectedly came upon motherhood, with love and affection and hope and sympathy.

...to mothers who also serve as fathers, and fathers who are mothers, with an extra helping of strength & support.

... to all who have mothers, in recognition that they are human, too, and have failings &  frailties, but deserve at least a call on this special day.

...to those who have lost mothers, especially those experiencing their first Mother's Day without their own mother, like my father, Grandpa Pharaoh, and his siblings, wishing them good memories and healing.

...to those who serve a special role in a child's life, for all that you do to enrich it and make it better.

...and to my daughters, with hope that someday (once you're old enough, and are married, and have a good support system, and are ready!) you'll get to experience this wonderful, amazing, miraculous blessing.  Thank you for being the reasons that I am a mother!  I couldn't have hoped for or wished for a better blessing than you as my children!

Happy Mother's Day!!!

This is lovely and it's kind of you to give a mention to all of those for whom Mother's Day is a mixed day. Over the last few years, I have had a number of contacts with people who really struggle with Mother's Day and it's made me much more sensitive to it all.
