This afternoon, Pumpkin was sad because a toy had broken. You know those noise-makers that you blow at New Year's Eve, that unroll and roll back up and make noise? She'd gotten one of those at a birthday party and now it wouldn't work anymore. So she was upset and crying about it.
Suddenly Penguin, all on her own, comes toddling/running into the room and chucks at her... Pumpkin's very favoritest, best stuffed animal in the world. The one that she loves, and sleeps with, and holds when she's sad or nervous or scared.
Isn't that sweet?! Who says 17 month olds don't have any empathy?

That was so sweet! I love the way siblings look out for each other.
Awww, they say that the ability to care about another really takes hold at this age. It is so much fun to see it actually manifest.
That really is sweet.
Wait a minute...."chucks at her"? Maybe it was a desperate act. =)
I gave my very best stuffed animal to my sister after her boating accident. Does that count?
Aw! That definitely counts, Diplowhat!
Yeah, they don't exactly have the best delivery, but it is sweet when it happens. Kitten is very empathetic, but Meimei is only just starting to be.
Wow - I am impressed. We miss all of you very much.
Awwwwwww....
Oh, I LOVE it when they do stuff like that! Especially when you are all frazzled and at your wit's end and they teach you. So sweet.
