When in the course of running around to do errands, bringing 2 yo to her (with you) half-hour class, getting gas, picking up kindergartners, if you should happen to notice a largish puddle under your front passenger tire...
...in the same area the brake line was leaking & needed replacement not that long ago...
...and you're supposed to leave on a 6 hr+ drive that very same day...
...and so you look beside the wheel at the brake line...
...and see liquid and drips...
...so you quickly call the local mechanic (2 blocks away) and he kindly says he'll take a look at it for you right away...
...and so you load up 3 girls and drive down there ASAP...
...if you're lucky, like me, you won't have to deal with any big issues, since, as he so politely explained to me, it's water... from the defrost... 'cuz it like runs the A/C to remove the humidity or something like that...
...and you might feel a little bit (ok, maybe more than a little bit) silly, but a LOT relieved!

Don't worry about it -- I've had to explain to a guy (who was, in fact, a mechanic for the National Guard) the dripping under van as he freaked out at the gas station. Guess they don't put AC into Humvees?
BUT Did he charge you to look at it???
Ha! But it's good you checked- wouldn't you have been kicking yourself if all of a sudden the brakes went mushy and you were miles from nowhere!
Kashka - the thing is, I know that the AC will leave water puddles... just didn't know defrost could, too!
AKJ - Nope, friendly neighborhood guy we usually go to. Plus it took him all of 2 minutes... most of which was explaining to me! I'm glad I checked, you're right!
